Welcome to Piedmont

Piedmont is an unincorporated community on the banks of the Saluda River with roots in both Greenville and Anderson Counties. Piedmont, specifically the area around the present-day Saluda River dam, has been known by many names throughout history. Native Americans and early settlers referred to it as the “Big Shoals of the Saluda.” By the late 1800s, the area was home to one of the largest textile mills in the world, the Piedmont Manufacturing Company. Today, it is a fast-growing suburban community with easy access to downtown Greenville.
